The prosecutor released Ann Shiela Belarmino, the alleged 20-year-old female mastermind in the death of Jang Lucero, a 34-year-old lady driver who was stabbed more than 50 times inside her vehicle in Calamba, Laguna. Belarmino got released because there was not enough evidence found to charge against her, according to the police, reported at Unang Balita.
Ann Sheila Belarmino initially insisted that she was not the one who captured in the file record of the CCTV camera.
“Hindi po ako yun nasa video. Pwedeng katulad lang ng buhok ko or ginaya yun tattoo ko. Dahil nun time na yun ay wala ako dun at nakikipag-inuman ako sa ibang lugar. Alam ko sa sarili ko na inosente ako.”
(Translation: “I’m not the one in the video. It can be just similar to my hair or imitated my tattoo. Because at that time, I wasn’t there and drinking elsewhere. I know the truth will prevail. I know for myself that I am innocent.”), Belarmino said in an interview with GMA 7’s 24 Oras.
According to the police, they will gather additional evidence and re-file the case. The authorities also continued to pursue to hunt the other alleged accomplices of Belarmino.
Belarmino arrested last July 3, Friday. She said she was an ex-girlfriend of Jang Lucero’s partner, Meyah Amatorio. She revealed she broke up with Amatorio last March when she found out that the latter was fixing a relationship with Lucero.
