VIRAL: PBA Players Quinahan, Belga figure in ‘ligang labas’ brawl

A video that is currently circulating on Facebook depicts a scuffle involving PBA players JR Quinahan and Beau Belga during an unsanctioned basketball game, known as “ligang labas,” in Cebu.

In the video, Quinahan and an opposing team’s import engaged in a fight for a rebound during a free-throw situation.

As they were battling for the ball, Quinahan held onto the import, which caused him to become angry and throw punches. Fortunately, the NLEX center was able to avoid being hit.

Belga then threw the ball at the foreign player, but fortunately, it missed. Cooler heads eventually prevailed and the altercation was stopped by separating the players.

According to the person who uploaded the video, Jio Jalalon and Robert Bolick were also playing in the unsanctioned game where the fight occurred.

In 2020, the PBA released a memorandum that outlined penalties for players who participate in unsanctioned leagues. These penalties include a fine of P50,000 and/or suspension, as stated in the memorandum.

Quinahan missed the entire PBA Governors’ Cup campaign for NLEX due to an injury.
