Christmas parol maker teary-eyed after buyer of 700 pieces backed out

A Christmas parol maker turned emotional after a buyer of a bulk order of parols backed out.

Parol maker Maximino Simon, aka Tatay Lakay Junior, can’t hold back his tears in a Facebook post after the supposed buyer of Christmas decorations worth 70 thousand pesos canceled the ready to delivered parols.

His series of Facebook posts caught the attention of the netizens and became viral. Many netizens tried to help Tatay Lakay to lessen his burden, by buying 70 each piece of the lanterns.

Eventually, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno reached out to him to buy all of the remaining parols on Friday. According to Philippine Star, Mayor Moreno directed to look for him last night after finding out about him.

“Blessing sa kin ito na binayaran nila lahat, kinuha nila lahat. Kasi kagabi pa, pinahanap na ako ni Mayor.”
“Dumating yun tao nya, nandun ako sa labas, naabutan nila ako humahagulgol kasama ko bote.”, he said.
