During her recent appearance on the popular noontime show Eat Bulaga, a Filipina named “Spaghetti ’88” from Sta. Maria, Bulacan shared the amusing names she gave to her children, which drew laughter from the audience.

Spag, as she is fondly called, revealed that her siblings were named “Macaroni ’85” and “Sincerely Yours ’98,” with the numbers indicating their birth years. She explained that their late father wanted them to have unique and modern names.

Following the family tradition, Spag gave her children peculiar names that were related to the dish she was named after. She named her firstborn “Cheese Pimiento,” while her other child is called “Parmesan Cheese.” Their nicknames are Chippy and Peewee, respectively, inspired by the famous Pinoy chips. She even revealed that she plans to name her upcoming child “Mozzarella Cheese” and will be nicknamed “Moby” after another local favorite.

While having such distinct names has brought some difficulties for them, such as bullying and confusion when ordering food at restaurants or applying for government IDs, it has also worked in their favor as people can easily remember their names, which has helped them connect with others, including their clients.

Spaghetti ’88 has gained social media attention for her amusing story and unique name choices. She hopes to inspire others to be creative with naming their children while considering the potential challenges that come with it.
